MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota National Guard is once again hosting a Memorial Day program at the state Veterans Cemetery south of Mandan.

The Monday event begins at noon. This year’s theme is “The Great War — 100 Years Remembered.” It commemorates a century since World War I came to an end.

The keynote speaker is Darrell Dorgan, chairman of the North Dakota WWI Centennial Committee.

The 188th Army Band’s brass quintet also will perform, and two Black Hawk helicopters will honor fallen soldiers with a cemetery flyover.
