Niger Tornadoes Football Club on Sunday defeated visiting Yobe Desert Stars FC 1-0 in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League at Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the only goal of the game came in the 90th minute through Andrew Ikefe.
Coach Hamza Abara of Niger Tornadoes later told newsmen he was happy his boys won the match in spite of a poor performance.
Abara said: “I am happy that we won the match. It was a bad day for my boys, but we won the game. We did not play well but luck was on our side.’’
Also, Baba Ganaru, the Technical Adviser of the visiting team, said it was a pity that his side played well but lost the game.
Ganaru said: “We did our best but unfortunately we lost the match.’’
