Veteran actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan on Friday (April 11) visited the San Francisco headquarters of the AI-powered search engine Perplexity AI and met the company’s CEO Aravind Srinivas.

Sharing pictures taken during the visit on his Instagram, Kamal said that he was inspired by the experience. “Indian ingenuity shines through @aravindsrinivas and his brilliant team building the future — one question at a time (sic),” he wrote on the caption of the post.

Meanwhile, Aravind shared the pictures on his X handle, writing, “Your passion to still learn and incorporate the cutting edge technology in film making is inspirational. Wish you the best for Thug Life and future projects you are working on!”

While details of what the star discussed with Aravind are unknown at the moment, Aravind’s tweet hints that it might concern employing advanced AI tools in filmmaking, given Kamal’s enthusiasm towards using advanced technology in his films.

Earlier this week, Kamal was in Las Vegas to attend the annual NAB show, which is said to be the largest show for media, entertainment and technology.

An annual trade show produced by the National Association of Broadcasters, it has been held since 1991 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Apart from exhibitors’ booths, the show has lectures, panel discussions and workshops. This year’s show, which concluded on April 9, focused on production tools, AI-driven workflows and new streaming solutions.

On the work front, Kamal is awaiting the release of Indian 3, the sequel to Indian 2, which came out last year. He also has Thug Life, which is directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote the script with Kamal. The film also stars Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Abhirami and Nassar. It reunites Kamal and Mani after their iconic 1987 film Nayakan.

Meanwhile, the veteran actor is also gearing up for his 237th film, helmed by acclaimed action choreographers Anbariv.
