PRINCETON — The community’s next generation of innovative thinkers in the Gibson County Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities program showcase their products and services at the Gibson County CEO program trade show Wednesday, May 8 at Princeton Theatre & Community Center, 301 W Broadway St, Princeton.
Seven CEO students present seven new businesses, with products ranging from bows to power washing to web design, said program facilitator Richard Coleman.
The trade show is the culminating event for CEO students who have spent the school year developing skills to bring a business concept into reality.
Individuals attending the show can buy products, sign up for services and book appointment times with the owners at each booth.
Coleman said students have stress-tested their business through a variety of events, such as “Banker Day” and “Local Pitch Day.” They have navigated the paperwork necessary to be tax compliant, and managed their financial obligations to bring their product or service to market.
He said the CEO program is designed to immerse students in experiential learning in leadership and entrepreneurship, and build a professional network in their community. The local trade show is the launch point for the students’ individual businesses as they exhibit the pinnacle of their entrepreneurial journey.
CEO students prepare for the trade show, by designing their booth, business cards and other marketing material, and polishing pitches to potential customers and interested community members. They will be in the final stages of production and rollout for their services.
