Katara to captivate audience with air shows

A spectacular Drones Show, a first of its kind to be held in Katara, is expected to captivate thousands of its visitors today and tomorrow.

In addition, a patriotic show is scheduled to be staged at Katara Amphitheatre this evening.  The Joint Special Forces will also present thrilling shows today and tomorrow from 3.30pm to 5pm at Katara’s waterfront, in which 60 paratroopers will adorn Katara’s skies with many colourful formations. The eight-day National Day celebrations at Katara will conclude on Tuesday with a fireworks display.

Yesterday, uge crowds from all age groups thronged Katara to enjoy a number of spectacular shows, from which included colourful Aerobatics Air Show organized by Qatar Armed Forces; which comprised the ‘Air Ambulance Service’ Show, ‘Aerobatics Air show’ by Al-Zaeem college, ‘Aerobatics Air Show showcasing the Air Ambulance service’, and an ‘Aircraft without a pilot’ show.

People also enjoyed sampling popular traditional Qatari cuisine available at various food kiosks at Katara Beach.

The events present a glimpse of Qatar’s rich heritage, through the food market, daily folkloric performances, exhibitions and workshops.

The Fath Al Kheir Dhow is expected to arrive today at 4pm after a month-long voyage to Kuwait and Oman.

The team comprising 16 Qataris led by its Captain Mohammed Al Sada will be welcomed with the traditional Al Qaffal ceremony at the conclusion of the third edition of its journey outside the country.
